PZU Cracovia Maraton with the slogan to-ge(t)-ther(e) - nearly PLN 100 000 for the Specialist Hospital Stefan Żeromski in Krakow
On Wednesday, November 18, in the media pavilion of Henryk Reyman's Municipal Stadium a press conference summarizing the PZU Cracovia Marathon project with the slogan to-ge(t) -ther(e). All the funds collected thanks to the involvement of runners and sponsors - a total of nearly 100,000. PLN in cash and material assistance - was transferred to the Director the Specialist Hospital Stefan Żeromski in Krakow - Jerzy Friediger by the Deputy Mayor of Krakow for Education, Sport and Tourism - Anna Korfel-Jasińska, Director of the Sport Infrastructure Management Board of Krakow and the project - Krzysztof Kowal and representatives of the Sponsors. During the conference, special trophies were awarded to the teams that competed in the virtual relay race and also to the companies supporting the project.
Organizer of the project PZU Cracovia Marathon with the slogan to-ge(t)-ther(e) prepared for runners and inline skaters by the Sports Infrastructure Management Board in Krakow and PZU - the long-term Titular Sponsor of events organized in the capital of Małopolska we donated PLN 85,000 and material assistance for the Specialist Hospital Stefan Żeromski in Krakow. In total, it is nearly PLN 100,000 allocated to support in the fight against COVID-19.
PLN 55 000 was collected from fees for premium virtual race start packages and marathon starting fees. And also from the project sponsors: PZU (PLN 20 000), FoodCare (owner of other brands: Gellwe, Frugo, Ostromecko; products worth PLN 7 000), Asics Polska (3 000 masks), Superbet Zakłady Bukmacherskie (PLN 10 000), Termy Krakowskie (masks and gloves).
As part of the project, from October 19 to November 8, a virtual race was competed and on the final day of the competition there was also a marathon run transferred to the virtual world on November 8, 2020. In total, almost 1 200 people covered a total distance of over 22 500 km. On November 8 the marathon distance in the virtual relay race was also completed by the invited teams of athletes, actors and sponsors.
The run will be carried out via the application used in the virtual training of PZU Cracovia Marathon Challenge - the application will change its name to PZU Cracovia Maraton to-ge(t)-ther(e). All adult, regardless of their location, could take part in the challenge. Virtual competitions were intended for runners and inline skaters. There were 5 distances to choose from, where ZIS organizes traditional runs every year: 5 km, 10 km, 13 km, 21,097 km, 42,195 km. The distance could be covered on any chosen route. Most people ran in Kraków (365) and Warsaw (72). Runners join us and sport to-ge(t)-ther(e) also abroad - in Great Britain, the Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Czech Republic, Germany, Spain, Finland, France, Italy as well as in Latvia, Belarus, Ukraine and Slovakia.

110 people decided to participate in the marathon race on November 8, 2020 as part of the PZU Cracovia Marathon with the slogan to-ge(t)-ther(e), who covered a total of 4 641.45 km. There were 10 ladies among them.
The six best runners (M) and the six best runners (W) in the general classification of women and men will receive material prizes funded by the Sponsors and Partners of the event (sets of sports accessories from Asics and vouchers for all-day regeneration in Termy Krakowskie) and all of them will receive special medals.
Originally, the event was to take the form of a traditional race for 250 people but due to the increase in infections and the tightening of restrictions and regulations related to the organization of sports events during the coronavirus pandemic, the competition was transferred to the virtual world.
The runners from the start list will also receive products from the event sponsors and partners (companies: Superbet Zakłady Bukmacherskie, Asics Polska, Diamant ProSport, Foodcare - the owner of the Fitella and Frugo brands, Termy Krakowskie, Wawel and Lewiatan) which they were to receive in regeneration packages and at along the route of the traditional race.

On Sunday, November 8, there was also a virtual relay race as part of the PZU Cracovia Marathon with the slogan to-ge(t)-ther(e). The invited teams participated in the competition: PZU Sport Team, Superbet Running Team, Asics FrontRunner Poland, "Żeromski" (medical staff from the Specialist Hospital Stefan Żeromski in Krakow), Ambassadors (actors), Sports Event Organizers and Cracovia Maraton Team. Due to their great involvement in the project, the teams contributed to the Specialist Hospital Stefan Żeromski in Krakow. Although - due to the virtual formula - each participant ran individually, each of the seven-person relay teams covered a total marathon distance. We present sports results, but for us all are winners and have received special statuettes. The fastest relay led by Grzegorz Sudoł received a trophy from the President of the City of Krakow - Jacek Majchrowski.
